Nylons ,stockings, Suggestive ads, Sex has always been in Style.

::Classy vintage pin ups to the sexually exuberant fashion scene of today.::

Many pin ups were photographs of celebrities who were considered sex symbols.
One of the most popular early pin-up girls was Betty Grable.

Here she is in the famous shot of her in a bathing suit, this was most likey to be caught "pinned" up on the wall of any soilder in WWII.

Her legs, were famously insured for 1,000,000$ (at the time that was a lot of money. )

A vintage pin up girl was a woman whose pulchritude would entice one to place a picture of her on a wall. The term was first attested to in English in 1941; however the practice is documented as going back at least to the 1890s.

30s and 40s pin up style art work.

An Alberto Vargas.

He was a famously noted artist back in the 1930s-40s era. depicting images of lovely pin up models.

Of course, I had to include here the beautiful Bettie Page, probably the most imitated and adored pin up from the 50's. Stockings, smiles and S & M remind me of Bettie Page, too bad she became a nun not too long after her she became one if not the first  pin up/fetish queen.

Bettie Page, wound up and gaged? Yes please.

1950's

Wonder who these women were inspired from? Lets see not as cunning or controversial
but well adored,  I give you the Gibson girl, this girl your grandfather could tell you a few things about.

The Gibson Girl was the creation of illustrator Charles Dana Gibson at the turn of the 20th Century. The Gibson Girl personified the ideal woman of the 19th and early 20th century. She was tall, slender, and big bosomed.

Marilyn Monroe.

And the 60's.?

Sex, Drugs, and Rock and Roll (how many times have you heard that phrase?)
During this period most of the female sex icons were in film , few models in the 60's were projected as sex symbols.

Elke Sommer

The gorgeous film star was also one of the most popular pin-up girls of the sixties, and posed twice for Playboy.

The 90's brought us Kate Moss, and Calvin Klein Ads..and oh yeah... a culture (slightly recovered) from the free-love and drug fests of the 60's--  Still, sex in fashion advertising, started being exercised more than ever.

Now, we are typically considered the generation of the world wide web. Contray to earlier times, sex in fashion has not always been so prominent as today, whether it is slightly suggestive or up in your face.

MTV:Says just dance

Today.. I have made a small pledge to myself, whether or not anyone is reading any of this; too post something each day or every other day if I can, too simply remind myself of exatcly what I give reference too in the title of this blog.

"Liberate yourself from the illusion of culture" ...of highly commercialized fashion and media. I in fact love all things that sparkle & glitter, sure...art is subjective and so is beauty, but even I know all that glitters is NOT GOLD. I will go on to post things here on this small space of expression I posess on the interweb, I will continue to include things about fashion, art and music. For it is what flows in me, and in some of you, I tell myself it's just a form of creative expression, noting at the same time I denounce the vacuous-ness of it, the falsehood of "class", and all the artifical sub-cultures it has given birth too.

Like everyone else ; wrapped up (plugged in)to the "reality" of this man made media influenced based culture :where actors are heros and gods...another puppet is in office, and our economy is undergoing a complete meltdown. I dont see things improving or any promises being carried out, I see tragedy and laziness, a generation of the internet, you dont need a personality ! Myspace will create one for you. I see humans that spend more time talking about what Lady Gaga is wearing and who is going to win "dancing with the stars", than anything slightly important or even substantialy relevant to life.

I think. we all get wrapped up , I mean how could you not? Everything you see, hear , learn in school, eat, suggestive movies, symbols, just polluted, perfectly constrived and concieved by masterminds, greed ridden gremlins .. hungry vacuous wolves.. out for one thing ....your "mind". (Ok im done.)
So therefore this leads me to a post I found on vigilantcitizen.com,  I did some google-ling because someone pointed out to me recently a claim that...Ms Lady Gaga ... is in fact a woman(turned man who under went a sex change) chameleon haired , Illuminati Puppet? (Maybe not having cable, is a good thing after all.)

Lets take a closer look.....

These are the claims showing evidence of occult symbolism which like most people should know by now: Its everywhere !!(hmm the dollar bill for example?.)

The Eye of Providence, or the all-seeing eye of God, is a symbol showing an eye often surrounded by rays of light or a glory and usually enclosed by a triangle. It is sometimes interpreted as representing the eye of God watching over humankind.
-From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

(Typical symbol that the Illuminati use ...probably the most obvious and overused symbol you will see.)

Of course the dollar bill, most recognized use of the symbol and obvious one at that.

Signs ? Symbols? Yes...

Subliminal messages...most effective form of brain washing? Yes i think so.

Who specifically exposes your mind to these types of messages? Lets see for example:

:Freemasons use signs (gestures), grips or tokens (handshakes) and words to gain admission to meetings and identify legitimate visitors.:

Illuminati symbols are all around you and everywhere you go.Illuminati symbols can be traced back to ancient pyramids and illuminati symbolism in the Christian bible and other world religions and mythologies. The most popular illuminati symbols is the eye on the pyramid on the back of the one dollar bill. Other illuminati symbols can be found in architectural design, corporate logos and pop culture media.

Baphomet, the Devil, is part male, part female human and part goat.

::Baphomet Unique to Satanism. A demonic deity and symbolic of Satan. Can be seen as jewelry
It is also now being used by the masons. It can be seen on their buildings and the emblems they put on their vehicles to identify each other::

Kind of resembles baphomet's hand placement in the picture above? Or are we reading too far into it?

Notice here the lightening bolt on her right eye, this is also a symbol used by
the illuminati (freemasons).

Hello Kitty? Sure we all might have a slight obsession (maybe thats just me).
But is this an indirect message to youth? A symbol of childhood innocence?

Ok, on that note lets anaylze her "stage" name Gaga:

Gaga is a term that immediately refers to absent mindedness. Here are some synonyms taken from a thesaurus:
•Given to lighthearted silliness: empty-headed, featherbrained, flighty, frivolous, frothy, giddy, harebrained, lighthearted, scatterbrained, silly. Slang birdbrained, dizzy.

•Afflicted with or exhibiting irrationality and mental unsoundness: brainsick, crazy, daft, demented, disordered, distraught, dotty, insane, lunatic, mad, maniac, maniacal, mentally ill, moonstruck, off, touched, unbalanced, unsound, wrong.

Is she really imposing on us to be robotic, febel, fashion-minded, ready to just follow the heard? Is this promoting in itself a behavior that would resemble someone who has been a mind control victim? Just dance , wear fancy clothes, dont think for yourself, making this all appear to be trendy? fashionable? Hmmmm...

"True magical symbols are 'disguises' for ideas, how their forms
are so arranged as to provide a clue to some hidden meaning. The 'hidden meanings' are
often very subtle, and an ability to recognise magical symbols must be developed by anyone who
wishes to seek these out" (p. 11).

In a spin: Gaga demonstrates some of her bizarre dance moves while dressed in skimpy underwear [The spiral represents time, something lost on mind control victims; metal is cold and impersonal.

Despite her well-publicised love of bizarre hats and sunglasses, GaGa insisted condoms were the number one accessory. [Condoms would be a crucial accessory to someone who was expected to service or 'perform for' her handlers.]

Really? I guess practice save sex kids!

Here playing with Madonna?( Another suspected puppet)

Nothing Lady Gaga is doing is actually "new" or really edgy..yet she may be talented
but is she just a toy, an image? Whether its staged or not? Why are there demonic and masonic symbols
appearing everywhere is she mocking mind control, the illuminati or representing ?

O' Canada

There, are many things I love about my home land Canada. But on the very top of that list are two things:
Canadian artist/bands and ketchup chips. Lately I have been listening to a lot of different artist, and have now collected a handful of bands (that are new too me) that I just believe you have to hear if your anything like me and you dont mind happiness and dancing.

Junior Boys

Junior Boys, have indeed been around the block and then some, they formed back in late 1999 in a small city that most people have never heard of ;Hamilton, Ontario( A small city that I am very familar with.)
They originally were a duo, consisting of Jeremy Greenspan and Johnny Dark, Johnny later left the group and Jeremy reached out to his engineer Matt Didemus.

Two albums later, they now have their third full length album out which is titled Begone Dull Care, and it was released on March 24 2009 in Canada, April 7 in the United States and May 11 in Germany.

I would highly advise checking out So this is Goodbye, which came out in 2006 but was
re-realeased as a bonus edition, including some remasters and remixes (simply candy for the ears).

DIY: Studs everywhere

I wanted to post a DIY blog about studding clothing and accessories. I personally will be posting some DIY blogs more often, and I will start with saying that I am working on some bustiers right now that will be accented with of course some lovely studs. I have seen this trend just about everywhere now, seems like a lot of it is hand done and makes a nice vintage bustier or a pair of shoes look that much more amazing and give it something new. Much of this inspiration has came from the famously blogged about  Rodarte for Louboutin heels shown here :

These can be imitated easily by getting some studs from ebay or another site, then just grab a "hole maker" and some super glue with a little dose of creativity and there you go !
I will be posting later my very own rendition of these lovely beautys!

An old pair of grunge lace up boots would also be an amazing canadite for adding some studs yourself (DIY style).

I hope you like my examples and maybe it inspires you to come up with some new ideas yourself for a DIY project. Many other things can  be added as well like ruffles or lace , always make a piece look more detailed and it puts a personal touch on the garmet that you cant buy at just any store.

Look for my next DIY post , I will have my very own guided recipe for doing some DIY studs.

Throw me back when.....

So I wanted to profile a lovely independent designer I heard of via myspace and etsy; Vintage Opulence. I love vintage lingerie and I am obssesed with getting my hands on some wherever I can find it. I have had luck on Ebay and Etsy of course, but as far as other clothing sites and stores seem to be a tad expensive. Here are some things she has for sale right now that I absolutely adore!

Amazing work on these vintage inspired lingerie pieces, any girl who loves lace and
ruffles would adore any of her stuff.
Happens to make me want to be a burlesque dancer !

Socks n' Shoes?

Mmmmm......yes please

So I have been seeing lots of socks with heels or grannie boots and of course vintage style oxfords that are really cute right now.
I  happen to jump on the band wagon and I have to
agree that this is a hot style...that has essentially been around forever; but just recent
have I seen it showing up in photos and magazines.
